Senior Project manager

Empire Technical Fabrication is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Wayne, NJ facility.  
 

The primary responsibility of the Senior Project Manager is to oversee the project management team in their work to plan, organize, and coordinate the technical requirements, financial, and scheduling goals for all the company’s projects. As well as work with the Director of Projects to develop and improve project workflows. This includes but is not limited to the following:


  • Review and approve all project schedules produced by Project Managers
  • Review and approve all project budgets  produced by Project Managers 
  • Review all scope-of-work documentation produced by Project Managers 
  • Manage all on-site activities for all projects as coordinated by Project Managers
  • Oversee internal review/ post-mortem meetings with senior management to provide feedback into the budgeting and estimating process for future projects
  • Oversee the production of all bidding and estimation
  • Attend all bid sessions
  • Review forecast calendars of projects being estimated and flag schedule holes to senior management
  • Identify weaknesses in the current project management workflow and actively work with direct supervisor to optimize and improve this process
  • Personally manage the company’s most  complex projects
    • Develop a top-level project schedule to outline and communicate milestones, delivery dates, and the overall project lifecycle
    • Develop and maintain a project budget through the entirety of the project       lifecycle, including tracking and producing change orders as required
    • Produce detailed scope-of-work documentation to ensure that all parties       adequately understand the technical requirements of the project
    • Collaborate with the Production Manager to assign project milestones to facilitate tracking of the project through the production process
    • Coordinate with the Production Manager to ensure that all project specific goals and the mutually agreed upon milestones are met with the minimal impact on other projects in production
    • Collaborate with the Senior Technical Designer to assign the required design phase completion dates to ensure that client’s requirements are met
    • Collaborate with Technical Designers to ensure that they fully understand technical requirements and budget goals
    • Review and approve client drawings prior to transmission for client approval
    • Review  shop drawings to ensure that all technical requirements are met, and       budget has been respected by Technical Designers
    • Create load out calendars, and coordinate all required transport and associated logistics
    • Coordinate and support all on-site activities

Salary for this position starts at $85,000

Required (Basic) Qualifications

· Minimum of 5+ years of commercial theatre or entertainment industry experience including supervisory experience

· Ability to read technical drawings and navigate AutoCAD; proficient in Microsoft Office 365 including Teams and SharePoint

· Strong understanding of scenic construction and automation 

· Ability to effectively prioritize, execute, and problem solve in a high-pressure environment and work efficiently within given time constraints; highly organized 

· Ability to communicate ideas clearly 

· Self-motivated; team oriented and highly collaborative work style

· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
